Description

A triad of orthogonal Helmholtz coils that allow the creation of a uniform magnetic field, fixed or rotating, inside a sphere of 60 cm in diameter, or a cube of 35x35x35 cm3.

A field of up to 10G (1 mT) can be generated in any direction and rotated at speeds greater than 100 RPM.

It also includes a controller designed to: i) cancel the Earth’s field to have an (almost) zero field; ii) generate a given field along any 3-D direction; iii) rotate the field up to 10RPM (100RPM, with lower precision); iii) measure the magnetic field up to 9 points (sensors not included).

The system can easily be controlled via WiFi using either a smartphone or a PC with any commercial browser or easily interfaced to MATLAB or Octave, both for controlling and for data acquisition (e.g. magnetic field measured using our magnetic field sensor)
